The CRA-W
Established in 1872, the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre (CRA-W) is a leading scientific institution, under the Walloon Ministry of Agriculture. CRA-W employs some 450 people including 120 scientists. Its offices, laboratories, greenhouses, orchards and experimental plots occupy an area of about 300 ha.
The expertise available at this multidisciplinary research institution covers the following areas: plant breeding, genetic engineering, plant genetic resources management, integrated plant protection, farming systems, agricultural engineering and agrometeorology, optimisation of agricultural foods productions and analysis and quality control of agro-food products and soils.
The Valorisation of Agricultural Products Department of the CRA-W has internationally renowned expertise in spectrometric and chemometric analysis applied to the qualitative management of agro-food products among others. As far as research is concerned, it has participated to the development of analytical techniques that will enable us to measure or assess the quality of agricultural products. The CRA-W expertise allows the opportunity to offer services to industry as well as to society (analyses conducted on behalf of inspection offices in the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Public Health).
Context
For the 10th consecutive year, the CRA-W organises a complete training on vibrational spectroscopy and chemometrics. In this 10th anniversary training you will have a complete overview of the theory of the spectroscopic and chemometric methods most commonly used. This will be completed with dynamical practical sessions in multidisciplinary laboratories, which will give you some tips and tricks useful when dealing with spectroscopy and chemometrics. Venue The training will be hosted by the Valorisation of Agricultural Products Department (Henseval Building) of the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre (CRA-W) in Gembloux.
Fee and registration
Participation to this training is 2500 € per participant.
Students benefit of a 50% discount.
The registration fee includes attendance at the 5 days training, the training book with all courses, coffee breaks, lunches and a training diner.

The audience
The training is technical and practical and dedicated to participants with none or little knowledge in vibrational spectroscopy and chemometrics. Dedicated sessions could be organized for people with some knowledge on the methods.

En séance plénière, Gordon Blackman nous présentera son parcours entrepreneurial, depuis ses débuts dans le trading, en passant par les biotechs (Realco) et aujourd'hui le médical (OneLife).

Les projets innovants s'exposent (14h00 à 18h00)
100 projets / start-ups / entreprises présentent et challengent leurs produits / processus / services novateurs dans le hall de l'Aula Magna. Leurs objectifs? Présenter leur innovation à des associés et partenaires potentiels, recevoir le feedback d'entrepreneurs et de coachs confirmés, confronter l'innovation avec des clients et sous-traitants potentiels. En pratique une table de discussion est attribuée à chaque projet inscrit.
Pour rencontrer toutes les attentes, une vingtaine d'acteurs du soutien à l'entrepreneuriat, publics et privés, (propriété intellectuelle, accompagnement-coaching, hébergement, financement, études de marché,...) seront également présents. Projets sur le grill (15h00 à 18h00)
60 sessions de pitch réparties en 5 ateliers thématiques de 12 pitchs successifs, devant des panels d'experts et d'entrepreneurs. 5 minutes pour convaincre suivies de 10 minutes d'échanges avec les membres du panel.
100 projets présents, 60 pitchs, vous l'avez compris, il n'y aura pas de place pour tout le monde ... Voir ci-dessous* pour les modalités d'inscription.

"How To Design and Test Business Models and Value Propositions"

Abstract
In this interactive talk with hands-on exercises Yves Pigneur will introduce the latest Business Model Innovation and Lean Startup tools. Participants will learn the latest on how to design and test business models and value propositions to decrease the risks of innovation. He will, in particular, get participants to apply the concepts, canvases and tools to design sustainable business models and innovative value propositions. Design thinking and customer development will also be emphasized for exploring, prototyping and experimenting value propositions and business models. Ground rules and pitfalls in the usage of the Business Model Canvas in large corporations will be illustrated.
Short Bio
Dr. Pigneur is professor at the University of Lausanne and has held visiting professorships at Georgia State University, University of British Columbia, National University of Singapore, and HEC Montreal. Together with Alexander Osterwalder, they authored the international bestseller "Business Model Generation” (million+ copies in 40 languages) and the new “Value Proposition Design”. Last year, they have been ranked #15 on the Thinkers50 list of top business thinkers worldwide and they won the “Strategy Award” of the Thinkers50 event in London.
