Louvain-la-Neuve is a pedestrian town situated 30 kilometers South-East of Brussels in the French-speaking part of Belgium. The town is easily reached by car, train or plane.
Do not confuse Louvain-la-Neuve with Louvain / Leuven (situated in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium)!

If you come by car, take the exit number 8A on the E411 motorway (Brussels-Luxembourg). If you have booked a room at Ibis Hotel, turn right at the roundabout and follow the indications "Ibis Hotel".

By train |
If you come by train, be careful when you buy your ticket: you want to get to "Louvain-la-Neuve Université", not to "Louvain" or "Leuven". Louvain and Louvain-la-Neuve are two different cities. Belgian railways (SNCB) |
By plane |
If you come by plane, the closest airport is Brussels Airport. It is a 20-minute drive from Louvain-la-Neuve. From there, you can take a taxi directly to Louvain-la-Neuve. It will cost you about 60€. The airport is also connected by train to the train station 'Bruxelles-Nord' in Brussels. From 'Bruxelles-Nord', you can take a direct train to Louvain-la-Neuve. Some flights also land in Brussels South Charleroi Airport. From there, you can take a taxi directly to Louvain-la-Neuve. It will cost you about 70€. The airport is also connected by bus shuttle (bus A) to Charleroi railway station. From Charleroi station, you can take a train to Ottignies. You need to change in Ottignies and take a train to Louvain-la-Neuve. There are also direct coach shuttles between the airport and the main Brussels railway station (Bruxelles-Midi). |
