Objectifs:
Goals of the workshop :
- Teachers learn how to create a trusting environment for newly arrived migrants using sports and sports games
- Teachers learn practical ideas and welltested methods to initiate more exchange between migrant teenagers and local students
Contenu:
The workshop constists of short inputs to explain the methods and practical excercises facilitated by trainers (day 1-3) and by the teachers themselves (day 3).
- Encounter, cooperation, overcoming language barriers and language acquisition through sports
- Methods for language acquisation through physical activities
- Sports as a tool to overcome language barriers, enable encounter, foster cooperation and overcome stereotypes
- Traditional games
- Traditional games from the countries of origin of refugees
- Intercultural games to foster the feeling of togetherness and mutual understanding
- Introduction of methods how to make an adventage of diversity in the group
- Practical tips for classroom management, exchange of best practices
- Introduction of methods and practical tips, how to manage a group, explain an excercise despite of the language or cultural barriers
- Exchange of experiences and best practices
Pré-requis:
L’anglais est la langue véhiculaire de l’atelier. Cependant, une connaissance rudimentaire de cette langue est suffisante et ne devrait pas être un frein à la participation.
