Development of an bioengineered ovary to preserve fertility in cancer patients
Project description:
The research project goal is to create a transplantable artificial ovary, a new alternative to restore fertility in patients who cannot undergo grafting of cryopreserved ovarian tissue.
Candidate profile:
- Medical or veterinary medical degree, MSc in biomedical/chemical sciences, bioengineering or equivalent
- Motivated, rigorous, autonomous, team player
- Fluent in English
- Experience in at least two of the following techniques is required: in vitro culture of cells, tissue or ovarian follicles, transplantation of preantral follicles, PCR, mass spectrometry, tissue engineering/biomaterials, rodent microsurgery, or TEM
Funding: EOS – FNRS/FWO
Terms of employment: Tax-free monthly grant for 4 years
