1. What's included in the monthly amount ?
The rent and the charges ( a provision for heating, a fixed amount for water, the cost of the rubbish collection and insurance and the green spaces maintenance).
The cost of the shared spaces maintenance is also included in the charges.
NB : for electricity (for your room and for the shared spaces) you will receive monthly an e-mail with a bill to pay separately.
If you have a contract for an entire academic year, we will proceed to a "reconciliation" of charges
2. I must pay a deposit. What's it for ?
The deposit must be paid by a bank transfer, at the signature of your contract. .
It will be refund at the latest by December 31 after the end of your last contract.
It could be reduced of the amount for the damages that the inventory will have finally recognised as your responsibility.
3. What about internet connexion ?
You must take a contract with a private provider.
In Louvain-la-Neuve, you have access to the UCL wi-fi with your UCL user, only in the lectures building, libraries and some surroundings.
If you want to install a telecommunication system (internet, TV, telephone) in your accommodation, this will be at your expense and applying conformity rules.
4. How and when I have to pay my rent+charges ?
-By a bank transfer, before the beginning of the month.
You have received a payments' planning with your contract.
-By a "standing order", the payment will be withdrawn in the first few days of the month.
If you haven't paid, in due time or with delay, and if we send you a "formal notice" ("mise en demeure"), you will be charged 15€ for administrative fee.
