Determining Factors for Diet Quality and Health Outcomes in Mexico (A.E. Meza González)

Overweight and obesity are present in all socioeconomic status, and albeit apparently paradoxical, in Mexico we can observe undernourished children and adults who are overweight and obese in the same household. Nutritional status is greatly predicted by the quality of the diet. It is thus of great interest to identify and understand the socioeconomic, geographic and demographic factors that determine diet quality and its relationship with obesity, diabetes and heart diseases to then make the proper policy recommendations to tackle the public health issue of malnutrition in Mexico.
