Members of the research network that was founded thanks to European Commission funding have met on December 10-12 in La Hulpe for a closed research seminar. This seminar made it possible to secure coherence in tools and research theoretical references within a group based on crossing of disciplines (competition law and private international law) as well as horizons (participants are practitioners, academics, or belong to administrative or legislative authorities).
On this occasion, a draft version of each contribution was presented and discussed. On that base, members of the research group were able to identify points for which it was necessary and practicable to write recommendations for the Commission or interpretation suggestions for practitioners (lawyers, civil jurisdictions and competition authorities). On the other hand, the group already reached consensus on the content of several proposals. Based on these discussions and agreements reached during the seminar, members of the research group have now a couple of weeks to formalize proposals on their topic. The scientific committee of the group will then meet in Paris in order to polish the writing of proposals for the conference and for the monograph publication.
