Students doing a Master’s in Public Relations take an English course which is project-based. For the project ‘Hosting an Event’, four groups of students chose to do a photo exhibition.
What an enhancement to our teaching and learning environment! The four groups chose the subject of their exhibitions themselves and thus we have pictures of Namur and Bruges, pictures of Louvain-la-Neuve at different times of the day, and portraits showing various emotions decorating the walls of four classrooms at the ILV.
The students worked completely autonomously to become ‘expert’ photographers, took their pictures, framed and hung them on the walls and wrote captions. Then they presented their exhibition to groups of younger students, explaining the pictures and why they chose them.
The photo shows Sigourney Gillin, Henry-Philippe Loriers, Melissa Horemans and Pierre Vandermouse with photos from their exhibition.
