In September and January, UCL organises services, activities and events to welcome and assist international students.

International welcome service in Louvain-la-Neuve

1. International meet and greet

• 3 to 28 September 2018, Monday to Friday.
• 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Inforville (in the train station next to the ticketing area).
• Help with taking your first steps, welcome kits, luggage transport and more.
• Students of the General coordination of International Students (CGEI) will meet you.
• 24 hour hotline : +32 (0)473 953 271 (till mid-October).

2. Information days for international students

• Two information days are organised (mid-September and begin February).
• Next information day: Friday 14 September 2018, at Inforville (in the train station next to the ticketing area).
• Free admission, no registration.

Program (provisional):

Information stands : General Coordination of International Students (CGEI): information on administrative steps, city tours, IT guidance (virtual office, moodle, etc.) Erasmus Student Network (ESN) : presentation of activities, information on French courses at the Language Institute of the UCL (ILV), second-hand equipment, etc. Accommodation Office : guidance on accommodation possibilities… Sport & Fitness Service: Sports Card registration, video presentation, etc. UCL Culture : cultural programme presentation, Culture Card registration. Student Support Service : information on the health system in Belgium (‘mutuelles’), social and psychological support, etc. Kots-à-projet: theme-base shared student accommodation PhD student and researcher information.

Ongoing presentations: The Language Institute of the UCL: French courses Student Support Service: the health system in Belgium Video Tutorials on UCL IT tools : Virtual office, Moodle, etc. Kot Erasmus: services, activities. City tours (duration : 1 hour) organised by CGEI

3. Welcome parties

• Two welcome parties are organised, end septembre and mid-February.
• Next welcome party, Wednesday 26 september 2018 at Musée L and salle Salmigondis/
• Food and drinks, information stands, animations, offcial welcome by UCL Authorities.
• All international students (regular and exchange students) are invited.
• Free admission, no registration.
