VALO DOC LOUVAIN

Research is in our blood

As a comprehensive university, UCL has research in its DNA. In the three sectors in which it takes place (human sciences, science and technology, health sciences), both fundamental and applied research are conducted with equal enthusiasm.

Interdisciplinarity is cultivated through exchanges between research teams and numerous collaborations with Belgian and foreign universities. This permanent quest for excellence and innovation is reflected in part by the impressive amount of project funding the university attracts each year: €200 million in research grants.

UCL has bolstered its ensemble of doctoral student services under the heading of ‘Valo Doc Louvain’. These services span from the beginning of the doctoral student’s path (supervised research) to conferral of the PhD and even beyond, as the university supports the PhD-holder’s search for employment.
