March 14: QCA Method Transversal Workshop with Santi Furnari Time and venue: 14:45 - 17:00 - Doyen 21 Short bio Prof. Furnari is an acknowledged international expert for the WCA method. This workshop aims to present this new method in management sciences. QCA differs from others methods such as regressions or case studies. Prof. Furnari will present the key points you need to know to familiarize, lead and assess a QCA research. Please register to this workshop sending an email to sylvie.baudine@uclouvain.be before October 25. Title: Using Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) in Management and Social Sciences Presentation: The use of Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) methods is increasing rapidly. They distinguish themselves from other empirical approaches, such as regression analysis or case study research. In particular, with QCA, researchers study social phenomena with the use of sets and the search for set relationships. It turns out that in virtually all disciplines in social sciences, social phenomena can be studied with set relations, and using set-theoretic methods is thus highly valuable. This session will guide the audience through the practices of QCA in management (and social science) research, and discuss issues in QCA methods, along with concrete recommendations. |
