Research activity continued to flourish at ISBA during the academic year 2016-2017
> Research contracts : the scientific activities developed by ISBA members are supported by various programs funded by the Belgian French-speaking Community (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles), the Walloon Region of Belgium (Région wallonne), the Belgian Federal Government and the European Union. Besides the public support, ISBA also benefited from fruitful collaboration with private partners mainly form the pharmaceutical and financial sectors. > Training junior researchers is a key activity for ISBA senior academic members. In 2016-2017, ISBA has hosted 25 PhD students and 8 post-doc researchers.
> ISBA members published 38 papers in international refereed journals. Research to appear soon, or under evaluation, was reported in 39 discussion papers.
> The Institute welcomed 19 visitors from around the world.
> Series of seminars : at the statistics seminars and the actuarial ones, invited speakers presented their research results. There have been 11 such seminars and 14 workshops in 2016-2017.
