Welcoming every kind of student

Bruxelles Saint-Gilles, Bruxelles Woluwe, Charleroi, Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons, Tournai

Not all prospective students are the same, but they should all have a chance to access higher education. Some students are in unconventional or particularly challenging situations that require a university to be flexible enough to facilitate their access to education. UCL works to meet the wide-ranging needs of its diverse student body, by:

  • guiding students through their chosen programme or through their transition during a change of programme;
  • instilling effective work methods;
  • helping them integrate into student life;
  • preparing them for entry into the labour force;
  • providing the means to apply for social assistance and financial aid;
  • meeting the needs of ‘Students with a Specific Profile’, that is, students with a disability, disorder or severe illness, accomplished or aspiring athletes, established artists and student entrepreneurs;
  • providing frameworks to help bachelor’s degree students succeed in their first year;
  • offering degree and continuing education programmes in all fields.
