Not all prospective students are the same, but they should all have a chance to access higher education. Some students are in unconventional or particularly challenging situations that require a university to be flexible enough to facilitate their access to education. UCL works to meet the wide-ranging needs of its diverse student body, by:
- guiding students through their chosen programme or through their transition during a change of programme;
- instilling effective work methods;
- helping them integrate into student life;
- preparing them for entry into the labour force;
- providing the means to apply for social assistance and financial aid;
- meeting the needs of ‘Students with a Specific Profile’, that is, students with a disability, disorder or severe illness, accomplished or aspiring athletes, established artists and student entrepreneurs;
- providing frameworks to help bachelor’s degree students succeed in their first year;
- offering degree and continuing education programmes in all fields.
