The Interuniversity Centre for Political and Public Opinion Research (PIOP) collects and analyses data on political and public opinion and comes under the Institute of Political Science Louvain-Europe (ISPOLE) of the Université catholique de Louvain.
PIOP was created in 1990 as part of the new social science research programme set up by what is now the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO). Together with ISPO, its counterpart at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), PIOP forms the Interuniversity Support Unit for Political and Public Opinion.
