Whole sections digitalization has opened the way to automation of image analyzes.
In a validation perspective, we showed that the analysis of stained surface or number of stained cells (versus evaluation by a Pathologist) were correlated both for membrane and nuclear markers. In clinical routine, immunostainings are often quantified (visually) as a number of stained cells. However, stained surface quantification offers the advantages of being faster and easier to develop.
