Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Though
On November 29, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., Andrew Lo (MIT) will be giving a talk on “Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Though”, considered by the Financial times as “A remarkable new paradigm puts human instinct at the heart of market behaviour”. The event is organized by Louvain Finance (LFIN) in cooperation with the National Bank of Belgium, KU Leuven, UA, UCL, UGent, ULB, ULg, UMons, UNamur, Université Saint-Louis, Vlerick and VUB. At 17:00, the talk will be followed by a drink with selection of Belgian beers.
Speaker
Andrew W. Lo is the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and director of the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 1984. He has published numerous articles in finance and economics journals, and has authored several books including Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Thought, The Econometrics of Financial Markets, A Non-Random Walk Down Wall Street, Hedge Funds: An Analytic Perspective, and The Evolution of Technical Analysis. His innovative work often appears in the Financial Times and other leading newspapers. In 2012, he was named one of Time's 100 most influential people.
