PROBING PAIN : available postdoctoral researcher position

IONS

A full-time postdoctoral research position is available for 24 months at the pain laboratory of the University of Louvain (UCL), under the supervision of Pr. André Mouraux (Institute of Neuroscience).

The position will be funded by the ERC starting grant “Multimodal functional neuroimaging techniques to probe the representation of pain in the human brain” (PROBING-PAIN).

The aim of the fellowship is to develop a number of innovative approaches combining transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) with electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to characterize the cortical representation of sustained pain and pathological chronic pain in humans. Additional information regarding the research activity of the lab can be found at http://nocions.webnode.com.

The candidate should have completed his/her PhD. Candidates with experience in the field of pain neuroscience and/or expertise in TMS, EEG or fMRI techniques are particularly encouraged to apply. The position will require conducting experiments in both healthy participants and patients.

Applications should be sent by email to andre.mouraux@uclouvain.be, and should include a cover letter detailing research motivation, a curriculum vitae and the contact details of potential references.

The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.  Start date is flexible, starting from January 2014.
