Topics

Due to the broad theoretical background of affiliated researchers we devote ourselves to combining different research methods to contribute to research that is combining impact, rigor and relevance. Especially we pursue combinations of empirical and theoretical work bringing different traditions in research together like mathematical modeling, experiments, case studies, secondary data research and survey research. All our projects have the following in common: They are insightful, interesting and practice relevant. Collaboration with practice allows us to get access to real and the latest problems. Practice profits from the collaboration by project-driven research projects with applicable results. We strongly believe that close collaboration of research and practice allows us to foster the development of our discipline. Reaching this challenging target is only possible by having access to experienced researchers and those who strongly devote themselves to generate new knowledge. International collaboration with research and practitioners further enables innovations in research. Being a valuable source for thought leaders and being an inspiring thinker is our credo.

Two research themes are central for the future research activities of the Chair: Procurement Ethics and Procurement 4.0. Master thesis and doctoral research in these areas is highly encouraged within the realm of the Chair.
