The objective of the pole Materials and Processes Engineering (IMAP) is to develop an integrated and multidisciplinary research of the full life cycle of materials, from chemical processing to recycling, including the processes control and materials characterization. An integrated view of the entire life cycle of a product is a necessary prerequisite to the establishment of effective sustainable development strategies.

La Faculté des sciences de la motricité organise des études en sciences de la motricité et en kinésithérapie et réadaptation, ainsi que de nombreux modules de formation continue dans ces domaines. 
Ces études sont centrées sur l'homme en mouvement et s’appuient sur les travaux scientifiques menés par les enseignants dans les instituts de recherche de l’UCL.

The de Duve Institute is a multidisciplinary biomedical research institute hosting several laboratories of the faculty of medicine of UCL, as well as the Brussels branch of the Ludwig Institute.

Research in the de Duve Institute is based on three principles:
- priority to basic research and to the freedom of the investigators,
- special attention to medical benefits potentially resulting from basic discoveries,
- multidisciplinary collaboration within a critical mass of competences.
