All EPL Master courses are offered in English. It is important to note that 95% of our Master programmes are organized by EPL, but a few courses in our Master programmes are taken from other UCL faculties/schools, which may be in French (eg. architecture)
To attend such courses, international students are requested to have a mandatory minimum level of B2. (Cf. European Common Framework of Reference for Languages).
In order to demonstrate your English proficiency, you should send a certificate of your language skills with your exchange student application. The certificate can be an official test (such as TOEFL/IELTS/CAE/CPE) or a statement by an English language teacher. It can also be a statement by a professor at your home institution where he/she confirms that you can pursue studies in your subject area in English.
You can access the full list of EPL Master programmes. In each Master programme, you can navigate through the different courses of this programme, and by choosing a specific course (e.g. LINGI2261) you will see specifications of the course, including the teaching language.
Furthermore, you can have access to the UCL English-based courses catalogue, updated on a yearly basis, in which you will find courses available at Louvain School of Engineering.
It is also important to point out that in all disciplines, the final master thesis work may be performed either in English or in French.
For incoming exchange students taking some Bachelor courses at EPL which are mostly taught in French, you are also requested to have a minimum level of B2 and in order to demonstrate your French proficiency, you should send a certificate of your language skills with your exchange student application. The certificate can be an official test (such as DELF- DALF) or a statement by a French language teacher. It can also be a statement by a professor at your home institution where he/she confirms that you can pursue studies in your subject area in French.
