In order to participate in an Erasmus exchange with the UCL Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters (FIAL), a Bilateral Agreement for student exchange in the subject areas covered by FIAL and your own Faculty or School must exist. These subject areas include:

We accept applications only from students who have been nominated by their home university. After your nomination has been confirmed by the FIAL ERASMUS incoming students’ coordinator, you should start the preparation of your stay in Belgium.
Application process step-by-step
I. Send to the FIAL ERASMUS incoming students’ coordinator
by e-mail:
- The UCL enrolment form (duly completed and signed)
- A copy of your passport (or ID card for EU students)
- Your transcript of records of all previous years in higher education
- Your completed ECTS Learning Agreement (see below)
by regular mail:
- A document « regulations-private life » signed
- The access card request form (duly completed)

Once your application has been processed and approved :
- If you are a national from an EU or an associated country
The UCL Enrolment Office (Service des inscriptions) will contact you by e-mail and explain the online procedure you must follow to have access to your UCL virtual desk.
- If you are a national from a non-EU or an associate country
The UCL Enrolment Office will send you your Letter of Acceptance (Autorisation d’inscription) by regular mail. Please make sure that the address mentioned on your registration form is correct. You will need this letter to get your student visa.
