CEMS continued success in the 2013 FT MIM ranking is a confirmation of the high quality MIM programme that was a dream of the CEMS founding Academic Members a quarter of a century ago this year.
The CEMS Master’s in International Management is the only truly global offering, unique among the world’s top-ranked MIM programmes.
Sustained success, the realization of a dream for the CEMS founding members 25 years ago
CEMS continued success in the FT MIM ranking is a confirmation of the high quality MIM programme that was a dream of the CEMS founding Academic Members a quarter of a century ago this year. Before the Maastricht Treaty created the European Union in 1992 and before the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989, CEMS founding members shared the ambition to be leaders in the establishment of a European education through a single Master’s degree.
All 4 of the founding Academic Members figure prominently in the ranking, including HEC Paris; ESADE Business School; Università Bocconi; and the University of Cologne.
"The CEMS MIM represents an outstanding learning and development opportunity for more than 1,000 students a year, eager to be prepared for international business careers. As a founding member, HEC is proud of the continued success and relevance of the CEMS Global Alliance." François Collin, Director for International Affairs, HEC Paris.
"The drivers of the origins of CEMS remain entirely relevant and a long path has been run. We do believe we can be proud of it, as many universities decided to join and now the CEMS European playing field has turned into a CEMS global one," says Stefano Caselli, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Università Bocconi.
"The seeds that the University of Cologne helped plant in 1988, in European soil, have now grown to a global level and throughout CEMS has consistently delivered what it was designed for: A unique program dedicated to educating global business leaders," adds Professor Ulrich W. Thonemann, Ph.D., Director and Vice Dean External Relations University of Cologne Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences.
"Things have come full circle and, 25 years later, ESADE will now be the proud hosts of the 25th Annual Events, during which the first quarter-century of achievements by our remarkable alliance will be rightly celebrated." - Prof. Carlo Maria Gallucci Calabrese, Vice-Rector of International Relations and Students, Ramon Llull University and Professor of Marketing Management, ESADE Business School.
A strong commitment to a high quality international education
The continuous strong ranking in international mobility and great representation of international faculty (99%), international students (94%), and international board (95%) are a confirmation of a unique aspect of the CEMS MIM programme. "The CEMS MIM is the only educational programme in the world in which there is no "home" or dominating cultural environment, meaning that once you become a part of the programme, the world becomes your home," says Roland Siegers, CEMS Executive Director. In fact, the 2013-14 cohort includes 1053 students from 67 countries and nearly half of CEMS 2012 graduates are living outside of their home country with nearly all of them speaking 3 languages or more.
CEMS commitment to a high quality international education continues to grow with the arrival of a major player in management education from Chile: Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (pending ratification in November 2013). The arrival of UAI strengthens CEMS' reach in the Americas and directly follows an expansion in Asia with the inclusion of IIM-C and HKUST in 2012. The global opportunities for students in the CEMS MIM programme now span 4 continents and include 29 universities across the globe (pending ratification of UAI), all top business schools in their respective countries. In fact, the MIM is the only ranked programme in Brazil, Singapore, Japan, Turkey and Hong Kong and CEMS is very happy about the entry into the ranking of our member schools in India, Russia and Australia.
Meeting global employers needs beyond measure
International mobility is very attractive to CEMS Corporate Partners, but they are also interested in some of the immeasurable qualities of CEMS graduates. "What has not changed in these 25 years is what people at P&G and in CEMS stand for – leadership, diversity, integrity, and exceptional performance in a fast-changing environment. CEMS is a key pillar in P&G’s commercial recruitment strategy and, as one of the founding CEMS Partners, we continue to value CEMS as a platform for interacting with top talents from around the globe" Giorgio Siracusa, P&G VP HR Western Europe.
Today’s results are celebrated with the entire CEMS Global Alliance, including 29 member schools, 68 Corporate Partners, 4 Social Partners, 8000+ alumni and 1000+ students.
