I am curious by nature and I firmly believe in the importance of travelling and undertaking as many learning experiences as possible. Therefore, when I was selected for the Bocconi-UCL/UNamur Joint Degree Program I seized the opportunity without a second though. Two years later, I know that I made an excellent choice. Not only this program provided me with a strong academic background and with the tools necessary for economic research, but this experience also revealed to be extremely stimulating from a personal perspective. During the first year at Bocconi, I had the opportunity to acquire the analytical tools and the basic skills that are indispensable for pursuing an academic career. Moreover, the pressure I faced there pushed me to work harder and harder and instilled in me greater determination and perseverance. During the year spent at UCL/UNamur I rediscovered my passion for economic theory, thanks to the core classes in advanced microeconomics and macroeconomics, and especially thanks to my Professors. Indeed, here I had the opportunity to build stimulating relationships with them and also with my colleagues. What I appreciate the most about UCL/Unamur is the lively environment, where everyone can grow both as a student and as a person, and freely express his potential. The Joint Degree Program helped better understanding my aspirations and deciding about my future. In particular, the second year has been crucial for me and I have decided to pursue my PhD at UCL, where I have been offered a position as teaching assistant.
